School has been going alright for Daniel. We saw his psychiatrist and we are going to be changing his dosage of Zyprexa to 10 mg instead of the 15 mg he has been taking. It's been a long time since he's been on Zyprexa and the current regimen of medications seem to keep him stable. We're happy with the minor change.
Daniel did have a difficult time last week because of my mom. I must say we all had a difficult time last week because of my mom's declining health. Those of you that follow our blog have read about my mom having breast cancer. Since it has metastasized to her brain, my mom's health has declined and even more now after the Gama Knife procedure in late July. Last week she was admitted to M. D. Anderson in Houston and we were told by the doctors that there was nothing more they could do to help her. We had to admit her to home hospice care. She is living with my brother in Houston now. Both of my boys are very close to my mom. The news really hurt them. Daniel took the news hard. Right now he is doing okay but we will be driving to Houston on the 19th to take care of her for the weekend. He will get his chance to spend time with her.
Please keep us in your prayers.
Another update, I will officially be registering Saving Daniel Foundation as a non-profit corporation with the city of San Antonio and then submitting it to the Secretary of State for approval. Then start the IRS paperwork for our 501(c)(3) status. I am pretty excited about it. It's slowly coming along.
I hope everyone has a great week. Don't forget about September 10th, it's World Suicide Prevention Day. Light those candles and place them at your window at 8 PM that evening to show your support or in memory of someone.
Have a great week and God bless!!
